HIGGS Research: “Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups in Civil Society Organisations
After 8 years of continuous action, HIGGS has evolved into a reference point for the Greek ecosystem of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). In addition to the programmes and support services it provides, HIGGS also focuses on the study of the Civil Society sector, thus contributing to its further development.
This survey is the 11th survey conducted by HIGGS, aiming to collect data that can be utilized towards strengthening and improving the Civil Society ecosystem.
In this survey you will find:
- Data regarding the inclusion of vulnerable social groups in the labour market.
- Proposals for more inclusive human resources’ policies that can contribute to strengthening the inclusion of vulnerable groups in the CSO sector and improving the status of the labour market, in general.
The high participation of women in positions of responsibility, and more specifically their participation percentage to top-level management positions, reaches 51.40%. This percentage indicates a positive tendency in terms of gender equality in the sector.
The high inclusion rate of the youth in the Executive Boards of the CSOs, as, in particular, 55.7% of the organisations stated that most of their Executive Boards’ Members are under 50 years old.
83.6% of the sample would like to increase the inclusion rates within their organisation.
In approximately every category, the presence of transgender people and people released from prison centres is non-existent, placing them at the top in terms of lack of inclusion in the CSO sector. Roma people and former substance users are the second least represented groups, while there are also notably low percentages of migrants and refugees in all hierarchical ranks.
