HIGGS celebrated its two year anniversary with an NGO Fair 

8 October 2017 – HIGGS celebrated its 2 year anniversary from 10:30 to 19:00 at its premises with a wide range of activities. From Thessaloniki and Alexandria of Imathia to Athens and Crete, more than 20 Nonprofit Organizations honored us with their presence by carrying out various activities (3D printer constructions, adoption of stray animals etc). We would like to thank for their presence and their activities the following NPOs: Athens Makerspace, GIVMED, Therapeutic Riding Center of Serres, MOBILITY, Fair Trade Hellas, The Tipping Point, ACRI, Iliachtida, Therapeutic Riding Association of Greece, Challedu, Margarita, RSI “Panos Mylonas”, Agigma, Ithaca Laundry, Greek Rescuers – Rescue.gr, Children of Spring, Association of Schools of the Wikipedia of Greece, Reading for Others, Best Buddies Greece, Dog’s Voice, Puppet Theatre “Prasin Aloga” and Association “Nosilia”.

The day ended with the HIGGS Donors’ Speed Dating Event, which brought together for the first time at the same time 12 of the country’s largest Charitable Foundations in order to meet and explore the possibility of a potential collaboration with 36 NPOs through “speed-dating”. We would like to thank the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, TIMA Charitable Foundation, A. G. Leventis Foundation,  Captain Vassilis and Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation, Vodafone, Bodossaki Foundation, G & A Mamidakis Foundation, the Hellenic Hope, the Hellenic Initiative, Act4Greece and the US Embassy’s Educational Department, for sharing with us their valuable knowledge.

Presenting the results of the first two years, Sotiris Petropoulos, HIGGS Director mentioned that “Within two years of operation, 60 Nonprofit Organizations from all over Greece have participated in HIGGS programs, whose work reaches over 50,000 beneficiaries. We have hosted more than 80 events in our premises and we have provided 1200 hours of training and counseling to NPOs. We would like to thank our Founding Donor, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, for the support and cooperation and all of you who have embraced HIGGS so warmly from the very first moment.”
