Outreach: Greek NGOs & Fundraising in the U.S.A.
04 June 2018 – The speakers of the “Outreach Event: Greek NGOs & Fundraising in the U.S.A.” were Mrs. Ellena Fotinatos, Deputy Director at King Baudouin Foundation U.S. and Eleni Alexaki, Senior Cultural Affairs Specialist at the Department of Education at the US Embassy.
Mrs. Fotinatos presented the work of the King Baudouin Foundation U.S. while Mrs. Alexaki spoke about the programs of the US Embassy as well as their requirements for collaborating with the Nonprofit Organizations. In addition, they shared with the 60 organizations that participated, good practices and ways a Greek Nonprofit Organization could seek for funding in the United States.
At the end of the event, HIGGS and the US Embassy awarded two NPOs, We Need Books and Callisto, Environmental Organization for Wildlife and Nature with the TechCamp Athens 2018 prizes (€ 1,500 worth/each), for designing and implementing a project using digital tools.
