“Altiero Spinelli Prize for Outreach” 2017 

20 June 2018 – HIGGS Founders Dr. Sotiris Petropoulos and Prof. Asteris Huliaras as well as Prof. Manos Papazoglou at the University of Peloponnese were awarded the “3rd 2017 Altiero Spinelli Prize for Outreach: Spreading Knowledge about Europe”.

The Prize was the outcome of an EU-wide contest that was initiated by the European Parliament and launched by the European Commission rewarding outstanding works that help enhance the citizens’ understanding of the EU. The Prize was awarded to the PEDIS team by the MEP of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament Ms. Eider Gardiazabal Rubial. The European Commission Spinelli Prize further enhances the outreach of PEDIS, as has been also evident with the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and the Jean Monnet Chair on EU Relations with Less Developed Countries.
