Τrainings on Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence by IRC
IRC facilitated two days of training on Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence at HIGGS on the 22nd and 23rd of May. On the first day, the participants learned about the legal framework of Child Protection and its application to the Greek context. The training also covered the different categories of Child Abuse and how to identify some signs that might indicate abuse on children. The first day of training concluded with discussions on good communication skills to use with children and what organizations can do to prevent and respond to cases of child abuse. On the second day, the session focused on understanding Gender-Based Violence (GBV), including types, root causes & consequences, how to create an effective women’s space, identify signs of GBV & guiding principals for working with survivors. The day concluded with some practical GBV case scenarios.
