The activities of METAdrasi at HIGGS

We offered our space to METAdrasi: Action for migration and development. Specifically:

Workshops for the Temporary Hospitality of Unaccompanied Minors in Families of META-Drasi
January – June 2017. Monthly gatherings of the families that participated, in order for them to share experiences and exchange feelings, thoughts, reflections and suggestions to address potential challenges.

Meetings of the members of the Network of the Unaccompanied Minors of META-Drasi
The aim of the meetings is to inform and provide solutions to problems related to the unaccompanied minors.

Greek Language Lessons of META-Drasi to adult refugees and immigrants
Lessons to five different classes that were divided according to level took place at HIGGS during the time period of October 2016 to May 2017. The lessons where taught by volunteers and focused on individuals that would like to learn the Greek language and become a part of the Greek society by improving their communication skills. Alongside, individualized teaching courses took place for students in need. The students had also the chance to take part at exams certifying their Greek knowledge.

“Accompanying Unaccompanied Minors” action of META-Drasi
HIGGS offered the place to META-Drasi for a cycle of supporting sessions to escorts of unaccompanied minors (homeless kids, kids that have lost their parents, survivors of shipwrecks etc.) The action started on October 2016 and ended on February 2017.
